An introduction to the Human Resource Practice

A consultants meeting on 26th May 2012

The HR Practice is a full service human resource consultancy.

The Human Resource Practice cc was established in 1992 to provide human resource management and development support to both small and larger existing organisations.

The Human Resource Practice cc is considered an expert in the concept of outsourcing, and has established a niche through working in partnership with line and HR managers, and providing appropriate experts on a needs basis.

As a result, projects and interventions are optimally cost effective for the client organisations.

How we operate

Naturally, outsourcing is also applied to this organisation itself, which has a core team of ten staff in the office; we draw on our database of experts according to their experience and skills in order to provide appropriate resources for specific projects. At any one time, there may be up to 40 consultants at various levels out in the field.

Client retention: The Human Resource Practice keeps their clients and provides a full HR service to their clients. If a consultant is placed on a project, it is expected that they will work through The Human Resource Practice, even if the project/s may carry on for years. It is also expected that a consultant looks for further opportunities for The Human Resource Practice and all work is referred to The Human Resource Practice.

Margin: There is a margin on all the work done through The Human Resource Practice, which may vary depending upon a number of different factors.

Referral fees: We pay a referral fee for any work that is referred to us that you cannot do, if it is out of your skill's profile or too large a project for you.

Consultant meetings: We have regular consultant meetings, which focus on our development. We use consultants on the database to do presentations for us. If you would like to volunteer to do a presentation, please let us know.

Communication via e-mail: We communicate via e-mail - letting everyone know about projects and special offers. Please keep us updated of your contact details.

Database of Skills: If you are interested in being part of our database and you will receive a lengthy skills analysis form, which is done on a self-rating basis, please would you update it periodically and send it to us.

Quality of assignments: We have documentation which shows you how to layout a report, use our logos and proforma formats. When you are on a project, please ask us for these proformas. Quality and value for money are crucial for both of our success.

Expectations: Please understand that we do not guarantee any work. We do however, source resources from our database as a first point of call. If at any time your require additional capacity (or resources) for any of your own work we would love to be involved if we can.

Terms and Conditions

Nasties like tax !

We do deduct income tax as per tax tables, unless we have a directive from the Receiver of Revenue instructing us to do otherwise. We have a more detailed policy on this for your information.

Other Benefits Of Being Part of The Human Resource Practice Community

The database of freelance consultants is like a Virtual community. At the moment we are negotiating special rates with different service providers; namely: ranging from medical aids, group life, internet shopping, consumables, book shopping, and so on.

The consultant's meetings provide an enjoyable and informative networking opportunity. We also have a whole lot of knowledge in the office and consultants are invited to read different magazine subscriptions in the office, as well as loan books and videos that are purchased by The Human Resource Practice.

This is on a give and take basis as well, i.e., Consultants are expected to contribute to body of knowledge as well.

Please attend consultant's meetings, volunteer to present, and consistently market yourself to us.

If you do not get work from us, please do not be despondent, or annoyed, we try our best, but sometimes there is not work within different skill sets and it may even take years. Welcome!

If you are interested in joining our virtual database, please e-mail Susan
